The principle aim of the Dumfries & Galloway Small Communities Housing Trust is to work with small rural communities (generally of less than 1000 population) to address local housing issues as part of rural regeneration.HOUSING NEEDS SURVEYSPlease click on the survey you wish to complete The Trust provides advice and assistance to both communities and individuals on a broad range of housing issues.
This includes carrying out local housing studies to assess local levels of need, encouraging investment from housing associations, facilitating low-cost, self-build plots and providing assistance to applicants for Rural Home Ownership Grants (RHOG) and Rural Empty Property Grants (REPG). In addition the Trust may, in certain circumstances, work with private developers to secure long term affordability in housing sold at a discount to satisfy planning requirements for affordable housing. The DGSCHT is funded by the Scottish Government.
