The principal AIM of the Trust is to work directly with communities to identify and directly address localised housing needs and demands as part of wider rural regeneration and to promote Community-Led Housing in the region.

The OBJECTIVE of the Trust is to facilitate the provision and delivery of affordable homes within small communities relative to identified needs.

The Trust is part of the RURAL HOUSING PARTNERSHIP in Scotland, alongside Rural Housing Scotland and the Highlands Small Communities Housing Trust.

Our PARTNERS include the Scottish Government, Dumfries and Galloway Council, Registered Social Landlords working in the region, landowners and community organisations across Dumfries and Galloway.

The Trust defines affordable housing as:

“non-market housing provided for those whose needs are not met by the open market. It can include housing to own or rent at rates less than that of the open market.”
